Lanette Espy is a two-time Emmy-nominated and NYABJ award-winning multimedia journalist and blogger. Her editorial work - which focuses on local news, entertainment and features - has appeared in The Record, NorthJersey.com, News 12, APP.com, 201 Magazine, Herald News, The Daily Record, WBGO 88.3 FM and more.

This New Jersey native holds a B.A. in journalism & media studies from Rutgers University. Lanette has made a splash on social media with more than a combined 215,000 social media followers thanks to her blog OooLaLaBlog. She continues to grow her personal brand while working full-time as a social media producer at News 12. OooLaLaBlog was created in 2011 and has been referenced by BET Her (formerly Centric TV), NJ.com, Bossip, VH1, and many other credible sites.

Lanette has appeared on TMZ Live!, The Mel Robbins Show, Hot 98.1 FM, and OMGossip. She's interviewed a number of celebrities, including Tyrese, Lee Daniels, WWE star R-Truth and more. She's also covered a number of media events and concerts, including BET Awards weekend in Los Angeles, Nas' exclusive album listening party in Queens, the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet in Newark, New York Comic Con and Rolling Loud festival. In addition, she has worked with Grammy Award-winning singer LaTavia Roberson as a special weekly co-host on Roberson's former radio show, The Naked Truth, where she dished on celebrity news and gossip.

Lanette received her first Emmy nomination in 2024 for News 12's team coverage of the deadly Port Newark cargo ship fire. Before joining News 12, Lanette worked as a digital producer for Gannett/USA Today Network on the Digital Optimization Team, and she produced the Under The Ring podcast. She even had a short stint as a brand ambassador for MSG Network, where she helped promote the New Jersey Devils hockey team.

Lanette is a dog lover, a huge fan of professional wrestling, and she loves to travel. In 2022, she took an unforgettable trip to Thailand, which quickly became her top favorite global travel destination. In the future, Lanette looks forward to adding "author" to her resume and checking more items off her travel bucket list.
